[TA - The doji today!!!]

>>>>the stock opened at 12 1/4 and closed at 12 1/4 with today's volume of about 605200 resembling yesterday's 609000...is this the beginning of reversal as indicative by this Doji? <<<

Good eye! You bet it is indeed! We have a pattern that looks like a Doji Star (or maybe a Harami cross) to me. A star indicates reversal and a doji indicates indecision. Therefore this usually means we are seeing a reversal following an indecisive period (the last few days). Normally it is best to wait for confirmation (upward move) before committing -- we could see confirmation Monday.

If not a Doji Star then it is a Harami cross. At this point, the Harami cross would mean that there is a decrease in momentum. Recent momentum has been down, so that is what is decreasing. This would also be a reversal indication.

My Holiday doji is a few weeks late, but I will take it.

Note to anyone who cares: The terms I used above are patterns of Japanese Candlesticks developed in the 1600s as a method of technical analysis to analyze the price of rice contracts. A Candlestick pattern can be one day or several days. A candle is drawn as follows: A narrow rectangle is drawn using the open and close as the top and bottom of the rectangle. If the high and low prices for the day were higher or lower than the open and close then a stem is formed on each end of the rectangle. If the open is higher than the close the rectangle is black (a black candle). If the close was higher than the open, then the rectangle is white (a white candle). For the doji, the open and close were the same so rather than a normal rectangle, we just have a line, crossed by a vertal line from the high to the low for the day.

So, think they are useless? The Japanese have used them for a looong time. Why?

My software charts the doji as a red cross. Today's red cross is very nice to see. Combine this with Amati's exciting prospects and you may get fireworks!
