Just in: Lawrence Taylor Indicted on Rape ChargesEntertainment Tonight, June 23, 2010

ET confirms that Lawrence Taylor has been indicted on charges in the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl.

The former pro-footballer faces charges of rape, criminal sexual act and sexual abuse, stemming from his May 6 arrest. He was also indicted on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and patronizing a prostitute. The indictment alleges that he paid $300 to the girl after the alleged encounter.

At the time of his arrest, the Ramapo Police Department told ET that the alleged crime took place at the Holidome Hotel in Montebello, New York.

Taylor's attorney, Kenneth Gribetz, told ET that his
team "firmly contends Lawrence is innocent on these charges."

Taylor is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday, July 13 in New York. He faces a maximum of four years in state prison if convicted.

The former New York Giant was a contestant in season eight of "Dancing with the Stars," dancing with pro partner Edyta Sliwinska.
