md: Yes, your plan is a good one. A recount of the entire state would be fair, with hand counts for those counties where either candidate thought that his party's voters were stiffed in some way. All of this is allowed under Florida law. Actually, I was hoping for such an order from the Florida Supreme Court. Gore proposed this a week ago but D-Dubya-I said no. His rejection did not surprise me. When it comes to voting, Repubs are exclusionary ... which is why they have consistently opposed "motor-voter" legislation and such throughout the country. Can't have everyone eligible to vote ... just gives the Dems more opportunity to "steal" votes. That's what they think. I saw "Terms of Endearment" years ago but forgot until you just now mentioned it that Jeff Daniels' character (I believe) was named Flap. I also enjoyed the movie.
