Ricki; I am not a real short. Barry and I had a bet on who would be better off, I was to paper short BRE-X and he was to paper short PFG.
Just a friendly bet, as I am far to poor to short 100,000 shares of BRE-X. My broker would have wanted money first.
In addition the Toronto Stock Exchange has helped the brokers by allowing trading. Before the resumption we could sit on our margin at the last traded price and hold on, but now all BRE-X stock is under sales pressure and it is widening out to cover other stocks, as the brokers try yo sell their clients into margin. Most will allow for some delays above and beyond the usual three days, but some will not.
Some are hard hit, very hard. Sorry to imply I was a shorter.
