(OT) Ralph-Emerson,

You ask why I am 'anti-Chavez'.

Years of observing what he has done to the country, quite shameful.

Also what he has not done to help the population, quite shameful.

I hope you don't expect me to read the rantings of the pseudo-journalist writing from Ireland, are you????

It is not a matter of being pro-American, but looking at what Chavez has focused on. Sure he will from time to time throw out a few crumbs to excite the poor, but in reality Venezuela's income from resources should have been used to help the population, by developing the non-resource economy.

Instead, Chavez has squandered public funds, living it up in his nice jet....

Corruption is alive and well in Venezuela. Whether you replace one suit by another, it remains corruption.

The country risk is enormous. Until the people of Venezuela are allowed free expression and can replace Chavez, matters are likely to take a turn for the worse.

What has Chavez done for Venezuela lately??? Not much.
