"As long as men are free to speak, a small, rational minority will
always prevail over an irrational majority." - Ayn Rand

Nice thought, but those who watched William Fulbright and Albert Gore, Sr., try to prevent the Vietnam War know that it doesn't always work. Unless "prevail" means after eight years and over 50,000 dead plus who knows how many Vietnamese. And England and France certainly enjoyed a very large measure of free speech before entering World War I. After the war began free speech was curtailed; Bertrand Russell went to prison for his pacifist views.

Could we modify this to say, "As long as men and women, especially Bonnie, are free to speak, a rational minority at least has a chance of escaping the follies of the irrational majority."?

(I don't share Alan Greenspan's fondness for Rand. I heard her on the radio once and she was just mean. Excuse my exercise of free speech!)
