Hey, we've had the Eighteenth and Twenty-First Amendments which cancelled each other out (Prohibition). Part of our "Republic", as you corrected me, is that we're driven by a malleable Constitution. And do you want your choices potentially limited to *me* (the Possible Manchurian Candidate Enemy Sleeper) or a "Carter" or a "Clinton"? Yeah, numerically that's not probable, but it could happen someday way off in the future, just because all three of us were domestically born. ;<)
