Oh, and market share, oh market share. Packard Bell had 50% of the home PC market when it was acquired for peanuts on brink of banruptcy.

Quarter after quarter I hear `market share' and `critical mass'
about AOL, and see subscriber growth, but margins and profit
bloop around with no trend. And every year (and sometimes twice a year) a new "strategy" is unveiled. Now I'm supposed to take on faith that the latest one is "it" -- from an outfit that can't even forcast or execute basics like gearing up appropriately before a major pirce change.
