Suposedly he knew nothing about Tech yet Mr. Buffett swooped down and pick up a lot of tech bonds and warrants whose underlying value were in Tech...hmnnn...

Buffet is a shark among the best.

His insurance companies were hammered on 9/11 so he goes on TV and talks up the fear of terrorism. People then willingly pay-up for more insurance to cover another attack and I think he gets some government help to limit liability. Brilliant!

Unlike silly analysts, he doesn't tell you what WAS a good buy until AFTER he buys it. I think the whole issue with Grubman, Blodget, Citigroup, etc. is just $1.4B worth of smoke paid to keep the public in the dark that nobody worth a crap pays attention to what the analysts say as they are just sales tools to help commissioned sellers of "used stocks" move product.

I LOVE this quote from Mr. Buffet:

"We never read analyst reports. If I did it's because the funny papers weren't available."
---Warren Buffet during his Berkshire Hathaway 2003 Annual Shareholder Meeting thestreet.com

I've never understood how people are so silly as to buy a stock from someone who cold calls them on the phone and says "buy this from me because it will go up in value."

I've never had anyone call me on the phone and say "Please buy my business as I am tired of making money."
