Joe, on the topic systematic fraud in the US financial system ...
Catherine Austin-Fitz gave an interview on Financial Sense Online in 2004 on "America's Black Budgets and the Manipulation of Mortgage & Financial Markets". The link can be found here.

There is both an audio interview and a transcript available at the above link. Ms. Austin-Fitz served Assistant Secretary of Housing/Federal Housing Commissioner at HUD in the first Bush Administration (she's also had extensive experience in the Wall St. Investment Banking community). She tells a fascinating story in her interview, but the gist of the matter is that while at HUD, she came to the conclusion that, at the top, it was being run as a criminal enterprise - plain and simple.
I've been a long-time fan of Ms Fitz's. Ms Fitz is also very close with the GATA community, and it's people like her, and their stories, that cause me to give so much credence to people like John Perkins, author of "Confessions of an Economic Hitman", and more recently, "The Secret History of the American Empire". (John Perkins has also been interviewed twice by Jim Puplava, as as Catherine Austin-Fitz - way to go JP!)
Anyway Joe, I share your outrage at the machinations of this highly corrupt system, and can only hope that it receives its just karmic desert without killing us all.
Regards, Glenn |
