Directv's connection will not be available for at least another year, if not longer (this from the people from whom I bought my Directv equipment). Wireless technology is currently being worked on by a number of sources; it is not yet as good as cable/DSL, but is preferred for rural areas because of costs. Ultimately, I think, wireless wil be the answer (I read where it would cost, today, from 500 to 700 billion dollars to wire Japan, for example) globally, but I can't worry about that now - who knows where we'll be in 20 years!
