Perhaps I should qualify that - to "change in volume usually precedes change in price." And that can be a move up or down. It's an axiom - there are exceptions to the rule. For instance, there are some true penny stocks like MVEE and such that trade a ton of volume every day, and don't move at all. I don't see how anyone, even the MM, make money on such trades.

IGNE had a surge of volume this week, and the price started to go up. Watching it from past moves, it seems a good pattern. Someone soaks up the available shares, and with a small float, up it goes. Volume was something like 10x normal this week, with price moving up by Friday. It's starting to get some notice on other boards.
We'll see what Monday brings.
