I learned at an early age there are consequences for many ill-conceived acts.

Throwing stones and other projectiles at armed tense soldiers is, to me, an ill-conceived act.

Thus ~ consequences not acceptable for parents, and arrogant do-gooder meddlers in other people's business, occur.
