yes, i believe it is the view behind the stage of the Wizard of Oz. I could not have said it better. By the way the OZ story had financial overtones. The yellow brick road referred to gold. the tin man to silver. etc. I can't remember the author's thesis but the cowardly lion may have been William Jennings Bryan..
