What specific piece of legislation are they advocating against?

You never know if you're gonna get into a road rage incident with a guy who likes to shoot first and ask questions later.

I do believe in the right to self-defense, but the responsibilities that come with it are enormous

Good and yes, part of any class covers that you could be Zimmerman'd or worse for simply defending yourself.
