The segment on the Discovery Channel asserted that combined efforts such as Ethanol, Battery and ultra light weight materials can eliminate at least 50% of the U.S. crude demand. Ethanol will be abandoned in several years. It was thoroughly demonstrated as late as 1974 that its production in scale is either uneconomic or counter productive. I hope it's all B.S. b/c i have bets on oil long term. The displacement of the gasoline economy isn't all bs. It's happening now. Nothing to do with the inevitable and large profitability of various O&G plays.
