Now that was SINGING!
LaKisha Jones outsang Jennifer Hudson. Will her "package" kill her?

Randy was right. Eight of the girls are better than all but four of the boys. And maybe all the boys.

"I watched the shows, and you don't sing ballads." Sabrina Sloan.
And boy, is she right! Those vapid blonds who came out and sang vapid songs will be gone in two weeks. They were just "filler" for the "final twelve."

"That song was too 'urban' for you." Simon Cowell.

What he is saying is, If you are white and have a white voice, don't sing black.

American Idol Top 12 Girls Show Brings The Return Of The Divas
By Joe Reality on American Idol

Remember the three divas from American Idol 3? Well, they are back! Except this time there are five divas, and their names are Stephanie Edwards, Jordin Sparks, Sabrina Sloan, Melinda Doolittle, and Lakisha Jones. After a rather disappointing American Idol top 12 boys performance show, the American Idol top 12 girls showed that the judges weren't completely crazy when they selected the top 24 semi-finalists.

In her intro segment, Stephanie Edwards said that she didn't think she was going to make it when she saw all the people trying out at the auditions. Stephanie sang "How Come You Don't Call Me." Randy Jackson said "That set it off." Paula Abdul said "Stephanie, what a performer you are." Simon Cowell said "You were a million times better than any performance we saw last night."

In her intro segment, Amy Krebs talked about how nerve racking the audition process was. Amy sang "I Can't Make You Love Me." Randy Jackson said "It was kind of a boring song for you." Paula Abdul said "With a song like that, it's very sentimental, and it's meant to be soft and breathy, and I felt like you pushed for it." Simon Cowell said "When you sing, you have the personality of a candle. In other words, there's nothing to remember, you're just like this thing that sings and then two singers later I'm going to forget you."

In her intro segment, Leslie Hunt talked about how her American Idol experience had been a boost of confidence. Leslie sang "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman." Randy Jackson said "That song actually I felt was a little too big for you." Paula Abdul said "I think you did a great job, Leslie. However, watch the songs that you pick." Simon Cowell said "You look very embarrassed, ungainly, a bet all over the place when you perform, as if you don't really want to be here."

In her intro segment, Sabrina Sloan talked about finding the perfect song. Sabrina sang "I Never Loved A Man The Way I Loved You." Randy Jackson said "That's the way to put it down. That's the way to sing." Paula Abdul said "Standing ovation, awesome." Simon Cowell said "You just proved the point between taking part as we see a lot and genuinely having a desire to win with talent."

In her intro segment, Antonella Barba talked about auditioning with her best friend and the stress of Hollywood week. Antonella sang "I Don't Want Miss A Thing." Randy Jackson said "It wasn't good, it was really pitchy, it was really bland." Paula Abdul said "It may not have been great, but it wasn't bad." Simon Cowell said "The good news is you're attractive. The bad news is it didn't work. It was way, way, way to big for you that song."

In her intro segment, Jordin Sparks talked about how Simon said she was too sugary sweet. Jordin sang "Give Me One Reason." Randy Jackson said "We tell people all the time that they pick songs that are too big for them. I don't know if there's any song to big for you, so go there." Paula Abdul said "You do have that natural talent, go for it, go for it, go for it." Simon Cowell said "I think push yourself and you may surprise a few people in this competition, that was good."

In her intro segment, Nicole Tranquillo talked about thriving on being really, really busy and getting no sleep. Nicole sang "Stay." Randy Jackson said "It wasn't really working for me." Paula Abdul said "I don't how many people can hit the notes that Nicole just hit." Simon Cowell said "I thought it was indulgent, it was aggressive, it looked unnatural, it looked fake."

In her intro segment, Haley Scarnato talked about how her Idol journey had been surreal. Haley sang "It's All Coming Back To Me Now." Randy Jackson said "It was just ok for me, really." Paula Abdul said "I think you did a nice job." Simon Cowell said "It was a bit like being at actually a reasonable good hotel, and that's the last song of the evening."

In her intro segment, Melinda Doolittle talked about how Hollywood week was empowering to her. Melinda sang "Since You've Been Gone." Randy Jackson said "All you need is to have confidence and believe in yourself, because you've got the natural gift." Paula Abdul said "No more background singing, you are a frontrunner." Simon Cowell said "You are an incredible singer, you have a fantastic story, you are a fantastic person, I really hope you do well."

In her intro segment, Alaina Alexander talked about crying happy tears. Alaina sang "Brass in Pocket." Randy Jackson said "It really wasn't great to be honest with you." Paula Abdul said "I didn't feel it." Simon Cowell said "Well, the irony was you kept singing that line "I'm Special," and it wasn't."

In her intro segment, Gina Glocksen talked about getting cut the last day in Hollywood last year. Gina sang "All By Myself." Randy Jackson said "Big girl, big voice, big song, I loved this." Paula Abdul said "It was the right song to sing tonight." Simon Cowell said "I don't think you hit the big note."

In her intro segment, Lakisha Jones talked about being a single parent. Lakisha sang "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." Randy Jackson said "I do love you." Paula Abdul said "You have so much to be proud of." Simon Cowell said "Just to correct someone earlier on, that's the right note. I'm very tempted to say to twenty-three people, book your plane tickets home."

If Lakisha Jones, Melinda Doolittle, Sabrina Sloan, Jordin Sparks, or Stephanie Edwards goes home, then it will be a crime. These five showed that there is still hope for American Idol 6. Gina Glocksen also proved that she was very worthy of the second chance that the judges gave her this year. Who will be going home out of the top twelve girls? Our prediction is that Antonella Barba and Nicole Tranquillo should pack their bags. If Antonella's fans are able to keep her in the competition, then it will probably be either Amy Krebs or Leslie Hunt leaving in her place.
