yes, I already posted that, which is precisely the point. Neocons are acting as if sunk costs matter, when they don't. We should be looking at future benefits. Spending several more trillion over the next couple decades to continue this thing in the Middle East is a loser compared with spending a fraction of that to become oil independent. Not to mention the fact that fighting in the Middle East only has the benefit of securing our oil supplies, which means maintaining the status quo. Whereas, moving to oil independence can create an entirely new industry and wealth machine and shift the balance of energy power from the East to the West, which is where we want it to be.
