Apparently the P-III sleep modes are not named properly.

"The Pentium III processor utilizes multiple low-power states such as AutoHALT, Stop-Grant, Sleep, and Deep Sleep to conserve power during idle times."

They should be called: The 'Boot Twice mode ', 'Stop/stay stopped mode', 'Sleep/forever mode' and the 'we are in deep sh*t mode'
The Rochester School for the Dead reports that the P-III is ideal for their students, since both the students and the computers never wake.
