Dave, I'm well aware of the effects of using a 3 month moving
average vs. a straight number. Here's my spin on the numbers:

I look at the magnitude of the sequential change in Booking and
see if they look good. (Yes for last month) I also look at magnitude
of the sequential change in the Sales and see if it jives with
previous months' bookings. It appears some of the huge
booking increase (+184.4) in 7/97 is being digested as sales
last month. Therefore, we have a bigger increase in sales than
bookings, and a lower BTB.

Month Sales Change Booking Change BTB
3/97 1,101.6 1,264.7 1.15
4/97 1,260.5 +158.9 1,385.7 +35.3 1.10
5/97 1,299.4 +38.9 1,421.0 +35.3 1.09
6/97 1,374.6 +75.2 1,474.3 +53.3 1.07
7/97 1,475.8 +101.2 1,658.7 +184.4 1.12
8/97 1,537.9 +62.1 1,682.4 +23.7 1.09
9/97 1,633.3 +95.4 1,747.9 +65.5 1.07
