Stacey Rasgon (Bernstein Research Analyst) seems to be the one responsible for today's drive by shooting of the WFE stocks.

His concerns is that supply may be running above demand in certain areas of Semi including in Auto and PC.

The problem with his contention is that there are certain chips that are in such short supply that the OEM's aren't able to make as many PCs and cars as there's demand for right now. This set-up results in demand for other chips (which are in better supply) being temporarily lower than it would naturally be.

The point being this, historical indicators of a coming semi cycle weakening are probably not the right way to be looking at the unprecedented situation we are in. Demand is white hot but supply of certain key chips and chip components is woefully short demand.
