Its time for the former soviet block to take ownership of the current situation. new russia has an identity crises, before gorbachev russia and the Warsaw pact contained over 350 million people. Now there are 15 missing border countries with population of 146 million plus another 97.6 million in former warsaw pact countries ( excluding Germany and Serbia).
Think about the data & the concept for a minute, russia is being sold as the same russia it WAS, not the russia it is. The sum of ts old parts ruled by moscow was formidable, in its time.
Today the majority of the parts summed are greater than current russia, by nearly 100 million people. (+ or - 20 million)
Russia is now a country of oligarchs, the population at 145 million is disenfranchised but somewhat hopeful of regaining its former identity. Problem is, the majority of that former identity, looks at its past experience with russia, and sees a different future. For the most part that future rejects russia.
So, in order for russia to confront its identity crisis, it must either do it by force, voluntary capitulation, or some combination of both.......think about the grandure lost, and the new found wealth. (in this case, money wont buy happiness)
The discovery of large pools of oil, Oil now in the hands of the state sanctioned oligarchs, that wealth is no more distributed than it was, by ratio, as when the old russia was
intact. Its a society of Users and those who they use.

The Primary operators in the now, the russian apparatus of this day, has no transparency with the russia of the last contemporary period. structure change in a game of musical chairs.........
The former appendages ( now the free parts), which source fed old russia, though enforced hegemony, clearly see in the here and now, that there is no transparency between today and yesterday.
Why would any free state wish to revert to an old mean, an old master, that practiced its influence, at the point of a gun, and debased the majority of the population every step of the way.
as russia seeks to recover its old identity, it will be interesting to observe, how much bandwidth there is in the leadership of the former appendages.....
It was encouraging to see five presidents on stage in the heart of Georgia today....
The US need not be the source of applied friction in the current sense, those who are finding thier legs in a free world, need to stand on them....and everything should work out for all of them; that choose the correct path.
Georgia need not succumb....they and all other former appendages, are not facing old russia, they are facing a projection, a construct, a memory.
The russia of the present.....a new control center where
hegemony out of oil....becomes the new means to old ends, this has the control center thinking oh my, we are very familiar with how too make the best of that, and so, the river follows its course.....unless and until it doesnt.
nothing new in any of this, accept......the large pools of missing information, waiting for some leadership. |
