(Somewhat OT) Hi Eric: no offense taken. Tautological is one of my favorite words, you don't see it used very much and it can help in analyzing an argument. Actually, it wasn't exactly the right word to describe your dismissal because of perceived ridiculousness, but it was close enough. The context I was using it in was 'something which is obviously true', such as "I am alive", or "Either you have or you haven't"

If the argument was ridiculous, then of course you wouldn't agree with it :)
