JANE FONDA BLOCKS HUSBAND TED TURNER'S PRESIDENCY BID

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(NOV. 20) WENN - EIGHTH - HOLLYWOOD, SHOWBIZ & PEOPLE NEWS - Hollywood actress JANE FONDA is making a stand against her husband TED TURNER's plans to run for the American Presidency - because she fears for her privacy.

Turner, 60, who founded American news channel CNN, is serious about putting his name forward for the most powerful job in the world - but BARBARELLA star Fonda isn't so sure.

She told Turner, "I don't want to be First Lady. I don't even want to be Second Lady. I just want to be your wife and love you and spend time with you."

Turner says, "I am very serious about running for President. I love Jane to death. I truly want her to be happy. But I realize I can't just sit still when there are so many problems facing this country."

A close source says, "Ted better choose his next move carefully." (WN/NE/MCM/GS)
