Lets back up. I haven't seen the specific's. What has been reported that there are 4 patents that QCOM holds that are applicable. What they are, I've no idea, as I haven't seen the technical specifications of the ETSI proposal. My speculation is it has to do with soft handoff, power control and maybe rake receiver. It's my speculation only. Whether it's even true. Frankly, I consider it a ruse by Ericsson and that they are really pushing W-TDMA as the future. It fits the GSM world more than W-CDMA does.
