Li. At first I thought you were kidding but then I looked at your previous postings and it sounds like you're a novice, so it's a fair question.

You've probably noticed that a lot of folks on this forum have been speculating about last quarters earnings. Everybody wants to know how much money Iomega earned/lost because the price of their stock will be a direct reflection of their profit or loss. Since IOMG is very volatile, the stock price could move drastically in either direction based on the earnings announcement.

Iomega will announce their earnings after the market closes this coming Thursday. Afterwards, Iomega's Investor Relations department and selected company officers will meet with the Press and Financial Analyst's to explain/review last quarters performance. They'll also probably make comments about the following quarter. The conversation about Q3 will consist of financial facts and will end our speculation about Q3. You should see the bozo's leave this forum when this happens. Then you'll see it start all over again with Q4, including the bozo's coming back near earnings announcement time.

The first people who hear the earnings release will immediately digest the information, try to make their own informed decision and then either buy/sell, depending upon their own investment style. Many folks have already purchased the security. If the earnings are poor, the stock could move lower quickly. If these folks were able to obtain the earnings release upon release, they could sell their security to minimize their lost or purchase put options to hedge their positions. If the earnings are good, the stock could move higher quickly. The folks who already own the stock will hold their positions and watch the price of their securities rise. They may even buy more. The folks who don't own the stock will probably buy at that time. If this happens we'll probably get into a short squeeze because the shorts are probably going to be forced to cover their positions. This would cause the stock to move higher quicker.

I hope this helps. I welcome input from others.

I personally don't have a feeling for what's going to happen this Thursday, but I'm going to take a high risk chance and do option straddles for both October and November. I'll either loose or make a lot of money.

Don't give up until you drink from the silver cup.
