Will,
One of the "problems and benefits" of my weekly table is the consistency of the names therein. When I started the table several years ago, the list contained 40 companies. I was rather arbitrary at the time I set it up since I obviously didn't include the names of all the semi-equip companies with public listings. I selected what I thought, at that time, was a representative sample that would allow me, and others who may be interested, some averaging of company performance in the semi-equip area. In other words, create an index.
Since the time the group was set up, 10 of the stocks "bit the dust" in one way or another, so today there are only 30 stocks in the list. When a stock is dropped from the list, I have to go back and remove its contribution from the database I keep. As time goes on, and the database gets larger and larger, the name removal becomes more work, but for now it is not too onerous. I have "minimized" the work that I have to do by not changing the names in the list except for those I must, which are those that no longer exist.
One of these days, and I am not sure when, I will have to either modify, delete, or create a new list by adding new names. For the forseeable future, I am resisting the adding of new names. Hopefully, the present list will continue to be of some use to you without the addition of CVV.
Best Regards,
Don |
