Of all the causes which conspire to blind
Man's erring judgment, and misguide the mind,
What the weak head with strongest bias rules
Is pride, the never failing vice of fools.

- Alexander Pope:
An Essay on Criticism

Brandon,

There was a time this past Fall when I believed you were different, especially when you sent me evidence concerning these matters. Either you were already bent then, or you are now. What can I say? The Internet and telephone are not adequate media through which to establish a solid relationship. That lesson I by now leaned quite thoroughly.

First of all, your statement here merely serves to reinforce my belief that those of you in our field who have taken advantage of others truly believe that no one is able or shall dare raise voice against what has been done. It is incredible arrogance, and a common "thread" that runs through it all. In this belief that the aggrieved parties remain completely powerless to return to the arena to defend their standing in these matters, you are most seriously mistaken. This attitude explains the quotation above. It is so very appropriate to what we have seen.

I would like to thank you for your contribution to the discussion. I was most pleased to see you respond to the commentary surrounding your activities here at Silicon Investor. Do you recall this post?

, I dont take payments for order flow. MBTrading does not pay any site for order flow. I have never received money from MBTrading for promoting them, yet they are the only broker I would send some one too

Then tonight you state the following:

As to your concerns about a relationship with TerraNova, yes, I do in fact have a relationship with a TerraNova broker and all of my clients know the extent of that relationship

I would like to offer you the immediate opportunity to make very clear to everyone at Silicon Investor exactly what your relationship with Terra Nova Trading, L.L.C, sponsor of the Hot Lists here, is. I would state right now that I have evidence that when you state that MB Trading never paid for order flow, you are either ignorant, or lying: I know that MB Trading has paid illegal kickbacks of no less than $5 (or nearly 35% of commissions) per client/member trade to at least one chat site for an extended period of time, and I fully intend to prove this allegation in court.

Now, you say you have as of June 9, 2001 5,774 paying clients? That is quite a feat. This past Fall you stated a mere 2,000. In this market, that is impressive. For your own standing, I hope this statement is accurate. You will be asked to prove it at a later date under less casual circumstances.

Now you made the following statement:

Of the 5774 clients, I have 37 from the Silicon Investor.

I admire your candor. So, you have indeed directly gained revenues for your company from your activities here at Silicon Investor, however small the proportion. That is important, and I am happy you said it here, now.

You also stated the following:

Maybe my thread, Jenna's thread, Bo's thread, Steve Bells thread and Eric Pattersons thread have been on the hot lists because there is content them, CONTENT...not mindless moaning.

This implies that you know these individuals quite well, it seems. Almost as if you have collaborated with them in the past. I shall not use the loaded term colluded - no, that shall be for the lawyers and courts to judge.

I am curious why you include Jenna in your list of Partners. Why would you contact me only this past Fall, sending me the precise information and link concerning Pristine Capital Management's illegal ownership of the Executioner trademark? You must have known that The Executioner was and is a branch office of your Partner, Terra Nova Trading, L.L.C., and that passing on irrefutable evidence that this company, your very own Partner no less, was breaking the law would not assist in the standing of your Partner? I was very happy that you sent that critical evidence my way, but I remain somewhat perplexed about your motives.

Brandon, I have not seen you in action as an analyst and would not dare judge your career without transcripts of your work. However, I do question your relationship with Terra Nova, and I do wonder at the position of your thread on the Hot Lists. I am not alone in this. Many SI Members are very disturbed and troubled about the Hot Lists, and we remain, patiently awaiting an explanation from SI Admin. I also wonder how your activities here could possibly be permissible under SI TOU. I did not pay fees to and make a binding agreement with Silicon Investor over three years ago to have brokerage services and sites operating here as if this service were a part of their company. A few posts fairly stating your profession and business, fine, but entire threads and groups of colleagues operating here, devoted to commercial recruitment of Silicon Investor Members? To this I never agreed.

Finally, you speak of "content." Yes. The content of the threads I have named today has nothing to do with Hot List rankings, or at least that is the representation made at this site, to the Membership. Now, I had believed that only a high relative level of activity on those threads led to the awarding of the singular prestige and honor of Hot List status. Forgive me if I am completely mistaken, and Hot List rankings, as you stated, rely on "content." Perhaps that "content" requires affiliation with Terra Nova Trading, L.L.C.? It is beginning to appear that way, and SI Staff have not deigned to respond to any of our repeated inquiries concerning this relevant matter. Your characterization of our extended discussion here concerning these grave issues of concern to all SI Members as "mindless moaning" I find insulting. And, yet, I am accustomed to it - I have seen this attitude in various guises so many times before. However, the guises shall soon fall away, and we shall all be privy to the truth. That time has been far too long in coming.

Sincerely,

Olivier L. F. Asser
