I suggest you begin with bigcharts.com, and play around with some of the indicators there, all the while noting how the price action reacts given the position of the various indicators. Try everything, and after a while, I'm sure you'll notice patterns to the price behavior whenever a certain indicator does something.

After you get a feel for it, I recommend you begin reading John Murphy's "The Visual Investor," which should contain a fairly simple Technical Analysis software package called Wall Street Analyst SE. The book is a very good primer, and lays the groundwork for more sophisticated analysis using technical indicators.

There's a long path ahead of you, but this should be a good first step if you're serious about learning more about TA. Also, try and bookmark some other TA-oriented threads around S.I. and see if you find anything or any person you like to read; follow that person around and see if you can learn something.

Some good people I recommend would be TATRADER (who Skane already follows); Ray Cunningham would be a good start too; both seem pretty friendly, and might even impart some of their wisdom to you.

Good luck,

Rainier
