You've been struggling with the the new computer for a while now and it's clear that you don't like the Windows 7. An option that hasn't been discussed is finding a Vista licence to install on your Toshiba. There would be some expense to that and they are hard to find, but it might be worth it for you. Another option would be to have your old HP repaired, but I'm less inclined to recommend that. Repairs could be expensive and it would still be an old computer.
