Aus. re. NY Times, other "writeups". Okay, "writeups" could imply a lengthy, detailed article. I'll change that word to "mentioned". As for example in the NYTimes bus. section, I recall a money manager was interviewed in early 1999 and he said a one liner about he was buying a company called Sandisk because of its memory cards used in digital photography. My point is not that the plusses/minuses of SNDK are discussed, only that for professional/serious investors there were and are times when the company name is presented to them - assuming that such people read the business press. It's then up to these investors to further investigate. There is no reason for anyone to consider this stock to be undiscovered by analysts/serious investors. People aren't being hit over the head with it, but the SNDK name is out there in the press. Also, perhaps I attribute too much intelligence or inquisitiveness to analysts, but at some point some of them, maybe mostly all of them, would've been struck with the idea that since digital cameras are the future, who makes the razorblades ("film")?
