Tench, I too remember. At that time, I did not own a part of this great company, but my older son did. He was an undergrad @ Cornell, which I believe is your alma mater. Anyway, I got into Intel since Jan., '96; Son, a '96 grad, a Manhattanite since '96, had sold and has been back in for a year "+", and we're both happy with the continued success, our hats off to Intel's dedicated and tireless employees.
BTW, son got call from friend, now M.D., and many friends are back to Big Red for Labor Day weekend gathering. The campus @ Ithaca is truly GORGES <gg>. Great school, now its beauty shines thru (no snow yet).
Another stellar day for Intel.
