Do you think Intel charges for a Merced evaluation system (I don't know myself)? The reason I'm asking is that my customer received a free Pentium Pro evaluation system back in 1996 (I think) to use for several months. Just curious. It would be unusual, I think. Basically, either you are on Intel's "A list" and get it for free, or you don't get it. They are way too scarce and new to be some random idiot's toy.
