I had the same impression first time I saw him, but then it dawned on me that the name "Niles", could be from almost anywhere. His features gave the initial impression that he was European, but as Ice pointed out, he's actually sub-continent Indian.

I didn't see anything particularly offensive in your post, just the usual GFY attitude.
