davidd, There other course of action is to continue to keep the Yen strong and continue to import American technology and resources at a bargain price. By being very efficient in their mfg. processes, they will continue to sell tons of electronics and autos all over the world, even with a strong Yen. The only negative is that it makes the inflators in Washington angry that the Japanese won't devalue their currency by running consumer credit excesses the way we do.
