Jim and All,
I believe we are in the process of watching IBM turn over, to Intel, a large part of what had been their "bread and butter" high margin hardware business.. In the long run this will be best for IBM. If they had not, they run the risk of loosing that business segment anyway. In addition, it would cost them dearly in the process. By doing it now, it will insure that IBM will at least have a say in the terms.

I think therefore, that IBM's future stock price will depend largely on how well investors react to this reality.
