When it comes to mobile phones, I far as I can see everyone is involved with everyone else just so they can keep tabs on what's going on in other camps. It's therefore very difficult to see what's really going on.

Japan is about 18 months ahead in mobile phone technology hence it appears to be defining what will happen elsewhere.

Today's article in the EETimes offers some insight into that market, especially the later part of the article.
