make public the intelligence budget I am probably not qualified to judge what is best for our intelligence agencies BUT it dont take an Einstein to figure out THAT is a big mistake. First off, why would the public care, I care only about the TOTAL budget and related taxes not individual line items, we got 300 + million people are we supposed to MICROMANAGE THE BUDGET?? Secondly, if one knows the intelligence budget one can determine its weaknesses, thats not something we ought to want our enemies to know. As to all the rest of the writeup, IMHO the BEST intelligence is the intelligence AT THE SCENE. If I am fighting on some far distant foreign soil, frankly I DONT GIVE A DAMN what they know in Washington, I want to know WHATS AROUND THE CORNER. I call that OPERATIONAL intelligence. Now STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE is something they can play with in Washington but IMHO never the twain should meet. jdn
