The US State Department says the Kurds are "terrorists". infoseek.com:80/Content?arn=a0122LBY989reulb-19980212&qt=turkey&col=NX&kt=A&ak=news1486 If the US would broker a deal between the Kurds and the Turks in which everybody's military activities would be directed toward getting rid of Saddam in return for an independent Kurdistan within Iraq and a permanent peace treaty between Turkey and the Kurds, I think the story would begin to make a little sense. Of course, the price of oil would continue to drop as Saddam's threat of mass murder goes away and Iraq goes into full oil production. Charles
