First, I must say I don't own any Bre-X shares or plan to buy any. Just checking why my other gold stocks went down. Over 100 post today, and I read them all. I find it hard to believe that if David Walsh was involved, that he came back to Calgary. Local newspapers (Calgary) and tv shows have pictures, interviews. If I had just pulled off the scam of the century, I would be in a country that has no extradition rights with Canada and no tax treaty with Canada and there are a lot of those in the Carribean. If he has just pulled of the scam of the century, then we should the same as we do with most slimy ppromoters and find him dead in Vancouver - oops, just kidding. However, if he did pull this scam, and I were him, I would be real worried about lead poisoning. Who has the most to gain with the Bre-X share price being low - Freeport, the Indonesians, Barrick, investors? I don't think it will help investment in Indonesia if they "nationalize" this gold find. Every other company drilling in Indonesia would suddenly find there sources of capital for drilling, mines, etc., suddenly dried up. The gold may still be there, but gold in the ground doesn't feed anyone. If Freeport is scamming the small investor, I would not want to face the angry US investors. As you see, I have no answers, only questions. As Mulder would say on the X Files, "The thruth is out there" |
