Ehm not quite. Good papers provide a context to go with the news they are reporting. Government is irrelevant in general and in this case completely aligned with the paper.

There you go with relativism again...but in this case you should be grateful that the Arab papers and Arab regimes are controlled not to reflect their mass opinion fully. Don't you think that there would have been no US aid to Egypt if Hosni Mubarak was not the best man for serving US in Egypt?

The controversy is the lack of context and the implications. To begin with, not all Palestinians think they should tie themselves to Saddam and those who do are doing out of desperation for getting any support against Israel. You can take it from there.
