This guy's aunt had the place stuffed with books and papers and it leaked. Mildew and mold were followed by fungus. The old gal had $20k hidden in the papers. I asked a retired doctor friend of mine about it and he said the symptoms she had for 6 months looked like the flu and she was treated for the flu on and off for 6 months. Then when it kicked in no power on Earth could have saved her. Even if they knew what it was.
