Pequín, you mean ... wouldn't be if they're the shape and size of tabascos, pequines are smaller, conical-shaped. Yes, I must send you my SASE and those Pacífico empties. We didn't have much luck with chiles this year, partly because I neglected them and partly because I fried the roots off 'em with some overly strong horsemanure tea early on. Most of the plants we bought late from a friend, and they had been a little long in the little plastic pots, so they may never have amounted to anything anyway. Así es la vida, we hardly got enough to eat fresh through the summer. Great chiles dulces though - green peppers - and pretty much everything else in the garden did fine, we've been eating elote (corn on the cob) for almost three months and there's a month left yet - discipline in rotation planting, that's the secret.
Every night at this time the net slows down - real slow - for me. Must be somebody around here moving tonnes of data. Starts at 1:00 pdst, regular, and it can take five minutes to load an SI post. So between that and the fact that Janice's penpal Rosi has worn me right out, it's off to the tame chartreuse yonder for this lonesome cowboy. Happy trails. |
