Verizon Wireless Delivers the Internet to Palm III and
V Users With Affordable New Pricing

$24.95/Month Price Point Competitive with Landline Internet Access

NEW YORK, June 29 /PRNewswire/ - PC EXPO -- Starting today, Verizon Wireless is giving users of Palm III and Palm V
handheld devices an affordable wireless option for accessing the Internet from wherever they are -- on a train, at the airport, in
a cafe or even sitting by a pool -- at a price comparable with landline Internet access.

For a flat rate of $24.95 a month on the company's extensive wireless packet network, Verizon Wireless data customers using
Palm III and Palm V handheld devices with wireless modems can tap into the Internet for a range of personal and professional
uses -- from tracking stocks and seeking restaurant reviews, to checking flight times and looking up inventory on a corporate
intranet. In addition, users can read and send e-mails, making the Palm III and Palm V indispensable as consumers and mobile
business professionals become increasingly dependent on email as a primary vehicle for communicating.

``Our data customers using a Palm III or V handheld to keep in touch now have the benefit of using our expansive IP network
for robust, feature-rich applications at a price comparable to landline Internet access,'' said Bob Hirsh, director of packet data
services for Verizon Wireless.

Verizon Wireless' packet data network is one of the largest in the nation, covering most of the major markets in the U.S., and
will expand by almost double at the close of the Bell Atlantic -- GTE merger at the end of the month.
