You rarely see crazy upsets in the women's bracket in the early rounds. In fact, you rarely see crazy upsets at all. The most memorable recent upset I can recall is in 2013 when Baylor, then the defending national champion, lost to Louisville (a #5 seed) in the third round. Baylor was led by Brittney Griner, a 6'8" girl who, and I'm not trying to be disparaging here, you would have sworn was a guy in drag right down to the deep voice (yes, she could easily dunk). Louisville shot the lights out from three and eked out a win. Louisville went all the way to the finals where they faced a young UConn team that had an uncharacteristic four losses in the regular season. UConn ended up winning the championship game by 30+ points (live by the three, die by the three). The star of the tournament was then freshman Breanna Stewart, now a senior. UConn, with Breanna getting better and better, won 2014 and 2015, is undefeated this season, and hopefully on its way to winning another title in 2016.
