I work in Ohio. I couldn't tell you whether Ohio is a right-to-work state or not. In my workplace, one can join the union or not. About three workers in four carry union cards in their wallets. I can relate to your father and his struggle with the corporate behemoth. I also have a heart on the mend. You state that people "would be appalled at what they (his company) tried to do him." Nothing that Corporate America does really surprises me anymore. I've seen too much over the years. And I work at a fairly "caring" company ... comparatively speaking. All I know is that I'm a lot better being in a union than not being in a union. All these federal labor laws on the books ... they're there for a reason.
