>> Southern Cal Reportedly Will Fire Coach Hackett On Sunday

Saturday's 38-21 loss to Notre Dame reportedly will be the last for embattled Southern California coach Paul Hackett.

The Los Angeles Daily News reported that Hackett will be fired on Sunday, ending his unsuccessful three-year tenure. Hackett is in the middle of a five-year contract and the Daily News is reporting that he will receive a buyout of $750,000.

Hackett is just 19-18 over three seasons since replacing the fired John Robinson in 1997. The Trojans are just 11-13 over the past two seasons.

Hackett was fired once before as a college coach. He was dismissed by Pittsburgh in 1992 after posting a 13-20-1 record over three seasons. He was offensive coordinator for the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs for five seasons before being hired by USC.

USC would be the third Pac-10 school looking for a coach after the season. Arizona State fired Bruce Snyder earlier this month and Arizona coach Dick Tomey surprisingly announced his resignation on Friday. <<
