What experience does one need to extend advice when the company with which the comments are directed have lost over 10(post-split) in share value in three little days. In order for one to buy in, I am assessing the current drop in price as major damage. Getting in now is a long shot guess in a very unstable market. That is very risky to me, but some investors live on the edge. AMAT has broken through downside resistance from the third quarter of calendar year, and has its greatest drop in a three day span in a few years(if not ever)!!! Something is amuck and investing into this company is highly inadvisable as far as I am concerned, at this time. INTC is a customer of AMAT. If INTC looks bad, AMAT may suffer. It is all connected. No to mention if someone downgrades entire sector outlook. Innocent SYBS is losing momentum based on everyone's outlook.
Last, if the market were to have a mass exodus, do you think anyone will be stopped at the door by AMAT's excellent year or prospects in the next few quarters??? I think not, when money flows out, it flows OUT!! regardless When things settle down is when the time is right for a good plucking. If the spiral down were to stop right now and AMAT were to bounce back to 46 or 47, this is still a great bargain(off highs of 54) going forward. AMAT is a great company, the market is not great company right now. Good luck to those willing to swallow this volatility.
