The main post-conflict problem in Iraq has been impatience on our part and lack of trust on the Iraqis part.

It took time for the Iraqis to learn we were not there to occupy, that our word could be trusted, that they will have a vote.

Time to disclose to the public just how badly they had been treated by Saddam.

Time to prove that our limited forces could go into the terrorists stronghold, overwhelm them, and bring to light their torture rooms.

There have been complaints that we have not spent the re-construction funds.
Thats wonderful news, not bad, since now they can soon be spent on jobs that will not be destroyed by insurgents.

Finish off the bad guys and provide better security and Iraq will get on a roll - plenty of money, plenty of jobs,
plenty of hope. Got to protect those highways better.

Cant blame Chirac for wanting to keep his job by vetoing support for action in Iraq. But I would lock out the French from any Iraqi contracts for a 2 year period.
That would be decided by the newly elected government after consulting with GWB and his representatives (g)
