Nasdaq changes halt status on Homestore.com

LOS ANGELES, Dec 24 (Reuters) - The Nasdaq Stock Market said on Monday it changed the trading halt status on Internet real estate service Homestore.com Inc. <HOMS.O> to "additional information requested," after the company said on Friday it would probably have to restate financial results.

The exchange said trading in Homestore, which has been halted since 5:17 p.m. EST on Friday, will resume once the company has satisfied the exchange's request. Nasdaq did not specify the information requested.

Homestore said on Friday it was conducting an inquiry into its accounting practices, a month after warning its revenues had dropped dramatically and that its outlook going forward would be worse than expected.

A spokesman for Homestore could not immediately be reached.

Based on Homestore's disclosure, Goldman Sachs cut its rating on the stock to "market perform" from "market outperform" on Monday.

Goldman analyst Anthony Noto said the rating was "essentially a neutral outlook" and said he expected the accounting inquiry would address the way the company recognizes advertising revenue and how it reports segment results.

Homestore shares closed at $3.60 on Nasdaq on Friday. Their 52-week high is $37.25 and their 52-week low is $2.10.
